Pilgrim passport – Via Francigena 20 years
The special passport to celebrate 20 years of the European Association of the Vie Francigene.
It represents the “passport of the pilgrim”, attesting his identity and motivations. And what better occasion, if not on the way, to celebrate its 20th anniversary? Yes, because in 2021 AEVF will blow out twenty candles during the longest party, temporally and geographically, ever made. And which is called, coincidentally, “Road to Rome 2021”: the great march from Canterbury to Rome, and from Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca, which will start at the end of spring 2021 and end at the beginning of autumn.
The pilgrim’s credential represents the “pilgrim’s passport”. It certifies the identity and motivations of the traveler, it is an indispensable tool. The pilgrim must have it with him to be identified as such. It is necessary to have the credential to have access to the reception facilities along the itinerary. In addition, it allows you to take advantage of the agreements with the restaurant activities. In some regions public transport services are also affiliated.
By handing over the credential in each place where the pilgrim is hosted, he will receive a stamp, useful for completing the journey and necessary to request the “Testimonium” (you must have covered at least the last 200km by bicycle or 100km on foot).
We recommend the purchase together with the Official Guide of the Via Francigena. They are in fact the two fundamental objects for walkers traveling along the Via Francigena.
